Swimming | Kiwisport

This week we did our second session of swimming. 

First I practiced the safe pool entrance by placing both of my hands on the platform, twisting my body then I hopped in.

Next I did the freestyle by putting both hands in front of me and then doing three arm strokes (breath).

Lastly I did the submerging by swimming through the hoop.

I got better at backward kicking.

SSR Selfie | Reading

This week for SSR Selfie I retold a book called "James and The Giant Peach". This book is written by Roald DahL and illustrated by Quentin Blake. This book is about James and how he found the peach.

This book is fiction and is a interesting book to read.

Venn Diagram | Space Food | Dripper Family

Similarities and differences talks about what things are the same or different. 

The book, Space Food is about a group of kids that learn how to stop food from rotting in space.The book, Dippy Dinner Dripper is about a family who are messy eaters. 

The differences between the Dinner Dripper and Space Food are the Dinner Dripper family are messy eaters and Space food gives information about germs. 

The similarities of the Dripper family and Space Food are they both are narratives.

Similarities and differences can help people find out what's the same and what's the difference.

Similes are comparing of two things using "like or as...as". 

The "as...as" simile uses adjectives to describe something. For example, "Te Raumati is as sick as a dog."

The "like" simile uses verbs to describe a action word. For example, "Bella acts like a bird."

Similes helps compare two thing by using like or as..as.

This week for commenting I commented on David's blog post on "Strategies of Solving". 

My question for him was "Was this activity hard and why"? I really liked reading his slide deck.

This week for SSR Selfie I read the book "Force and Motion". This book is about to what simple machinery and what those two topics do.

Punctuation Challenge

This week I learnt how to use punctuation marks properly. Punctuation marks helps separate sentences by the structure. 

The first task was sorting the right punctuation to the right meaning. I found this activity difficult because I didn't know some of the definitions.

The next task I tried to include as much punctuation marks in a sentences. I had six sentences in total that used the some of the punctuation marks. 

I really enjoyed this activity and I really like defining the definitions.
