Kiwi Sport | Tennis
L.I - To learn the basic grip of a Tennis Racket
This week for Kiwi Sport we had a new game to play, Tennis. In pairs, one person dropped a ball, the other person tried to catch it. This was a warm up to test our skills.
Activity - Learning the forehand and backhand technique.
Forehand - One is at the bottom of the racket. This is our dominate hand
Backhand - Two hands of the racket , dominate hand stays on the bottom other hand above the bottom hand.
Cybersmart
L.I - To understand the difference between legal and illegal.
This week for Cybersmart we had to do a task on what legal and illegal meant. We also had to show websites that showed examples of legal and illegal. Legal means something that is appropriate to use and illegal means something that is a inappropriate to use. Two examples on what we learnt is shown down below.

L.I - To do a novel study about Roald Dahl novels
This week for Reading we have been reading Roald Dahl books. We had all a choice of what book we wanted, I chose "The Twits". We also had to make bookmarks to go with our books. The main characters were Mr Twit, Mrs Twit, The Roly Poly Bird & The Muggle - Wump Monkeys.

This week for Writing we are learning to write recounts based on what we did. A Recount is telling someone what you did in the past.
The structure of a recount is Tree:

R - Reveal ( Who was there )
E - Events 3x
E - Ending ( How we felt )
Our recounts had to be about the time we went out to eat.
My recount I had to make a practise recount.
Maori | Wiki | No Hea Koe
L.I - To translate maori to english
This week for Maori we had to translate maori to english. We also had to fill in a Google Doc called Wiki - Kotahi using the Maori Dictionary and finding the maori words to go with it. For our next task we had also had to translate the countries to their maori words.
The main thing we had to figure out was the Google Doc with the a translation.

Kiwi Can | Respect
L.I - To face challenges and respecting who we are.
This week for Kiwi Can we are learning how to respect / face challenges by playing a game called Vses, how to play this game there is a caller that calls out two things and the people have to go to a side or the other side and they have to have a reason why they like that thing such as I like outside sports because you can get more active.
Activity:
Our activity was called Riddles & Facing Challenges, how to play this game is that we have to split into two groups and one groups goes with Miss Mack and the other goes with Mr Si Mau. When we are with Miss Mack we have to answer riddles and when the group is with Mr Si Mau that means that have to do 3 challenges based on what they learnt last term.

Reading | Rap & Poetic Verse
L.I - To build vocabulary and knowledge
This week for Reading we were learning about how to build our vocabulary and our knowledge. In groups we created a slide that shows an Vocabulary Builder and a Rap Lyric vs Poetic Verse. For example: Truth is the ultimate power when the truth comes around all lies have to run and hide. Is this a rap lyric or a poetic verse.

This week for Maths we had recap our learning that we learnt during last term. For our strategies we had to use Basic Facts, Tidy Numbers, Place Value, Written Algorithm, Rounding and Compensating, Reversing, Repeated Addition.
We had to calculate the area and Perimeter by using written algorithm or repeated addition. Next we had to calculate time by using addition or place value. Lastly we had add decimals by using written algorithm.

Maori | Te Reo
This week for Maori we had to complete four tasks in a group.
#Task 1:
Task 1 was called Nga Atua for this task we had to match the gods in Maori to their english.

Task 2 was called Whakapakehatia for this task we had to watch a video about this boy named Sione and we also had to translate the Maori words to the english.

This morning for Kiwi Can was our first session so we have different leaders Mr Si Mau and Mr Fasiat.
For our energizer we played a game called Fruity Tott, how to play this game is there is a caller that calls out these fruits apple, orange and banana, if the caller calls out apple then you take a step back same with orange but taking a step back and lastly with the banana you turn 80 degrees around.
For our Activity was played was called Truth or Lie, how you play this game is the there is a caller that calls out a True thing about them self and something that a lie about them. There are 2 sides the represents the truth or lie if we got it correct then we got 1 point for the class.
Our theme for this term is Respect.
