Interschool Athletics

On Wednesday we had our interschool athletics. The stations were Shot put, Discus, High Jump, Long Jump & Sprint Races. I can fourth in the sprint races and didn't make in to the finals. We thank all parents for coming down and supporting the us and also for looking after us as well

We made photo frames using different materials to sell at our market day. We had to pick a theme, my theme was Christmas. We had 4 stations which were drawing, painting, must do's & Accessories. Our themes were aloud to be creative.

Double Tennis

L.I - To play doubles tennis

Double tennis is when two players play against two players. Both players on each team should have turns hitting the ball. The person closer to the ball should hit the ball. We practised by playing doubles.

Maori






Last week for Maori we practised doing the pou's and also learning the positions to stand in. We did a activity called Wiki Ono, for this activity we had to translate Maori to English. The DLO is shown above on the Google Doc my group created.

LI: to use statistical and scientific methods to study the effect of wingspan and area 
on lift.


For term 4 we are studying aerodynamics. We learnt what variables are as well as 
independent and dependent variables. 


Our task this week was to create 12 paper/origami planes focusing on one certain design 
and studying each aspect of the design and which part of the paper planes are important 
and how they affect launch and flight.


A variable is a feature of an object or thing that can change between multiple types of 
the object/item. An independent variable is unchanged by other variables or will not be 
changed by other aspects or assets of a variable. A dependent variable is depends on 
another factor in order to be changed.

Athletics

Last week Friday we had our school we played 10 different activities,the games we played were called Egg & Spoon Races, Sponge Relays, Shot Put, Lily Pad gladiator & Lastly Rest Station. There were different coloured teams working together to earn points. The sprints was the final station which was after lunch eating. I can 2 second and made it into the itershool sprints.

This week for Kiwi Can we have a new theme is patient.


Energizer :

For our energizer we play a game called Snap & Escape, how play this game you have to find a partner and make sure you hands are flat like a pancake or a plate. The other person has to put one hand on the other persons like a gun and same with the other person the first one to


Activity:

For our activity we played two games called Pass it on and End of the road, how to play pass it on is there are two groups boys versus girls or mixed teams when you feel someone touch your shoulders then you will have to pass it on, the first person to grab the cone wins a point for their team. Lastly end of the road, how to play this game is there is a caller that calls out questions and the first one to call out the answer wins and moves onto the next person.

This week for Kiwi Sport we had to practise serving the full serve to our partner. We also worked in four groups trying to serve the ball to each other by making sure we were in our ready position. We served diagonally across the courts to our partner.

Inquiry | Business | Food Print

L.I - To learn about supply & Demand


This week for Inquiry we had a visitor named Michal who came to talk to Ls1 and Ls2 about how she got her business and how long it took her to gather all of the products she needed.

 Michal's business is called Food Print. It took Michal 2 years to set up her business and it has been running it for 6 months. Michal has travelled around the world to U.S.A and worked at a hotel then travelled to London where she worked at Hello fresh. She has seen a lot of  bread that has being wasted when she was in U.S.A. Her her mission is to stop bread from being wasted . Her passion is stop the worlds population of bread being wasted. 


We thank Michal for coming in a teaching us about the environment and how it effects the planet and we also thank Michal  for teaching us about land waste. 20 million loaves of bread are wasted a year.








Kiwi Can

L.I - To learn how to communicate with others


This week for Kiwi Can we are learning about communication by talking about body language and listing a bunch if ways to show body language.


Our energiser we played was called Math Hands, how to play game is you get into pairs and a choose a number but we couldn't tell our partner. The first one to add of the numbers up wins.



Our activity was called musically chairs but instead musically cones, how to play this game is there is music and when the music stops then we had to grab a cone and put it on our head.

L.I  - To learn how to serve the ball 

This week for Kiwi Sport we had to practise how to serve to ball to our partner. We also learnt how to throw the ball diagonally, throwing the ball up and hitting it with the racket. The thing that was the most important was throwing to ball gently to our partner. All of the positions helped us work our forehand also our backhand as we only have three more weeks.

Manaiakalani Film Festival

Today Panmure Bridge School went to Hoyts to watch movies from other Manaiakalani Schools. The schools we watched was: Saint Patrick Schools & Tamaki Lastly Panmure Bridge School. I thought that Saint Patrick's movies were funny and enjoying. We thank of staff for coming down and looking after students and we also thank the organising people for putting the effort into this day.

 L.I - To translate Maori into  English


This week for Maori we had to translate Maori into English by using the Maori dictionary. We also did a task which was many ways of saying Bye / Goodbye.

2019 Manaiakalani Film Festival

I watched  "Te Puna Walrua" from "Tamaki Primary School". It was amazing because of the way they did a video of a Maori Culture Theme.

L.I - To learn the basic grip of a tennis racket


This week for Kiwisport we are learning to use our forehand and backhand. We had to hit the ball softly to our partner and count how many hits we could get. Our backhand is our dominate that we write with. The forehand is the hand that position is the top of the other hand.

L.I - To learn to communicate with others


This week for Kiwi Can we learnt about how to communicate with other by playing a energizer called ''Rock Paper Shoot", how to play this is you go around versing people and who ever is out has to get on their knees and vs someone else if they win then they can stand up and the other person has to get down on their knees.



We also played a game called Animal Choir, how to play this game is that there is a caller that calls out the name of the a group and the group he calls out has to follow the callers beat. Our groups were called tigers, cats and pigs.

Reading | Roald Dahl


L.I - To research information about Roald Dahl


This week for Reading we had to do some research to find information about the Roald Dahl. We had to create a Google Drawing about the research we did. Roald wrote at least 34 books in his terms as a author. Sadly Roald passed away in November the 23th 1990. We also had to find photos to go with the research.
