Day 1 - Activity 1 - The Legend of New Zealand

1. The Maori name of New Zealand is Aotearoa which means the land of the long white cloud.

2. The official language is English and Maori.

3. The largest city in New Zealand is Auckland although its capital city is Wellington.

These are some facts that I found interesting. I have learnt that most kiwis or people that live in New Zealand speak English and Maori. I think that these facts are important as it talks about legends of New Zealand.

On Athletics Day

On Athletics Day

Last Friday was ours school’s Athletics Day. It was sunny and I felt very
surprised because I thought that it was going to rain.The whole school
came in their team colours. I came in green.

Our first station was the Sponge Race. I liked the sponge race because
it was a hot day and the sponge race included some water.SPLASH!
These are the things we used: A sponge, bag,bucket,rope and a pole

We had to get into a bag and jump,we had to wet a sponge,jump over
a pole and wet the sponge and go back the I came.

The next station I liked the Rest and the Dance station because we got
to rest and dance.The girls and boys were having a dance battle and the
boys won.

The finally station was the Sprint Race in that race I came 2nd.Everyone
was encouraging people.

I felt happy because the rain didn’t ruin our day I also felt hot and tired
because it was a long day.Athletics Day is the best!.I hope there is
another Athletics Day next year.

My Duffy book

My duffy book is about Superheros that save the day. The main
characters in the story is a little boy and Superheroes.So far I have read
up to page 20 and the superheros run a hotel. One day they have a bbq
and a girl trips over and she hits the GO button of the rocket ship.
All of the superheros have to help save the day before it is to late.

Where have my ears gone?

Today at school I lost my ears.My friends  couldn’t
hear me, so they got very angry at me while I smiling at them.

At the end of the school  day I went home.
My mother gave me dinner and then said,
‘‘Where are your ears?We must
go everywhere until we find some ears for you. I don’t
care if they are not the same I just want you to have ears my
daughter."
"Why do we have to go everywhere just to get ears for me?"
First we went to the doctors and after that we went to the
hospital.I looked everywhere in the hospital,under beds and in
the draws.  I could see something behind all the medicines .I yelled
to mum and she came running down the hall. "Yes!" my mum said
quietly.
"I think I can see something in this draw.Mum come over here for a
minute.I think that it might be my ears."
We tried to get my ears but there was a nurse there so we could not
The nurse said, ‘‘What are you doing here in the middle of the night?"
"We were just trying to get my daughter’s ears please. I think my
daughter’s ears are in that draw over there."
‘‘Where’’?
I said,“Are you angry at me because I have no ears’’.
The nurse let us look in the drawer and I was able to put my ears
back on.

First get your tooth brush.

Next put some toothpaste onto your toothbrush.

Then you wet your toothpaste with some water.

After that  you brush your teeth really well.             

Brush  it sideways,up and down and round and round.

Next rinse your mouth with water and spit it out in the sink.

Finally clean your toothbrush and put it away.
